While toy shopping may have reached a post holiday decrease, the question of toy safety is still on everyone’s mind. Following a year of lead-tainted toys, the US passed legislation to
help protect kids from unsafe toys by mandating chemical testing and strict labeling. This of course was great news for parents, children, and toy safety advocates alike; but as ABC news reports not everyone had the same joyous response.

The year of toy recalls has prompted parents to push for change in toy manufacturing. Although it feels as though progress may be moving a snails pace, change may be on the horizon. A recent article in the San Diego Times reveals that the Senate is voting on a bill to increase funds for the Consumer Product Safety Commission as early as Thursday.
