1. Are Organic Mum-Mum products available?

   For parents looking for organic options, we now offer a USDA certified organic option for BMM Original and organic TMM Original and Strawberry.

2. Are Mum-Mum products Lactose free?

   No milk ingredients are used in the production of Mum-Mum products for U.S. consumers. However, skim milk powder is used in the same manufacturing facilities in other processes and therefore traces of milk powder (and lactose) may be found in Mum-Mum products.

   The milk powder that is used in other processes is imported only from New Zealand sources. The manufacturer receives health/test certificates from the New Zealand dairy board with each incoming load.

3. Are Mum-Mum products Gluten free?

   Yes, all Mum-Mum products are gluten free. Japonica rice is naturally gluten free.

4. Are Mum-Mum products Kosher or Hallal ?

   No.

5. My child is severely allergic to peanuts and tree nuts. Are Mum-Mum products safe for him?

   No peanut or tree nuts are used in the ingredients, on the production line or in the factory. However, Want-Want does not perform any actual testing for peanut/tree nuts after production.

6. Why do Mum-Mum products contain sugar and salt?

   The sugar and salt act as leavening agents. Without the small amount of sugar and salt, the product would not rise. When you compare nutritional panels, the amount of sugar in Mum-Mum products is typically lower than other baby products.

1. When can I start giving my baby Mum Mum’s ?

   Babies mature at different rates, so it is most important to observe  the important developmental milestones related to baby feeding.  Your baby should already be introduced to solid foods, over six months of age, and expressing an interest and ability to pick up finger foods by using the pincer grasp.  See our Baby Feeding Guide resource for more information on introducing solid foods.

   Baby Mum-Mum and Toddler Mum-Mum are made in China by Want-Want Group, the largest rice cracker manufacturer in the world. 2. My baby loves Baby Mum-Mum, but due to recent news reports of unsafe manufacturing practices in China, I am concerned about their safety. Do you have independent inspectors? How can you reassure your customers that Baby Mum-Mum is made with safe ingredients?

   The primary ingredient, Japonica Rice, is sourced from specific farmers in Northeastern China. Japonica is a premium short grained rice, similar to sushi rice, and approximately 3 times the cost of regular long grain rice. There are no GMO (genetically modified) components and the rice is milled in-house to ensure top quality and consistency (for best flavor, texture and aroma).

   All ingredients are screened carefully for foreign substances and microbiology prior to entering the factory. After production, products are checked again for foreign matter and other microbiological items such as salmonella.

   All products exported must then be tested by China Customs Inspection, the agency now specifically testing for chemicals such as melamine and cancer-causing red dyes that you have read about recently.
