Study Finds Too Many Tots Watching too Much TV

Just because a show is created for toddlers does not necessarily mean they have to sit down to watch more TV.  In fact, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends no more than 2 hours per day of “quality programming.”  Much to the shock and dismay of health experts everywhere, a new study discovered that kids are far surpassing the recommended amount of TV watching. New Intervention Program Promotes Healthy Diets during Infancy

Oh, if only every new parent could train their babies to like vegetables; especially those babies who are ‘veggie resistant’.  Encouraging healthy eating habits for babies and toddlers can be a challenge, especially in light of recent findings that baby and toddler snack foods were loaded with sugar.  What is a mum to do?  The answer may have arrived as a new study found a little early mealtime intervention can go a long way. Study Finds Baby, Toddler Foods too sugary

If your new to solid foods baby was in need of a snack, would you hand him a candy bar? How about a bite sized bag of candy? Most mums would reply with a resounding ‘No Way!’  Unfortunately, in some baby and toddler snack foods that’s exactly what you may be doing.  A recent study by the University of Calgary found that more than half of the baby and toddler foods sold at Canadian grocery stores have far too many calories coming from sugar.
