6 Ways to Survive the Holiday Season with Food Allergies
One of the most common ways to celebrate the holidays is by eating.  Although the holiday get-togethers are a lot of fun, they can be a daunting experience if you or your child has food allergies.  Mum Mum’s provides 6 ways to survive the holiday season with food allergies.  By phoning ahead, making a side dish, and talking to your kids you may be able to have your cake and eat it too.

Gluten Free Recipe of the Month: Baked Sweet Potatoes with Raisins
Just in time for the holidays, the post features a gluten free recipe of the month utilizing a holiday meal mainstay.  Sweet potatoes, one of the oldest and most nutrient dense foods around, also boast versatility being able to be eaten warm or cold.  Loaded with vitamin A, B6, vitamin C and fiber, sweet potatoes are in peak season this time of year.  The recipe is simple and delicious, and best of all it is naturally gluten free making it acceptable for celiacs.

Groups Urge Parents to be Careful about Toxins in Toys
Shopping season has officially begun, but as the post explains parents shouldn’t let their guard down just yet.  Despite the progress made recently in regards to toy safety, public interest groups urge parents to still be on the lookout for unsafe toys.  Thousands of children were hospitalized last year due to unsafe toys despite the new federal legislation enhancing toy safety standards.  According to toy safety advocates, toy makers have been given until next year to implement the new toy safety standards and are allowed to sell any toys that have already been made.
