University of North Carolina Study Finds Parenting Can Override Effects of Genes in How Babies Respond to Stress
It may seem as though babies have a stress free existence but for some babies, coping with stressful situations can be tough even at a few months old.  The post explains that although some infants carry a gene that makes coping with stress difficult, attentive parenting can override the gene’s effects.  A new study by the University of North Carolina debunked the myth that child development is contingent upon nature or nurture by proving it is a little bit of both.

The Best BPA Free Bottles
Many parents are aware the chemical BPA is potentially harmful and should be avoided by expecting women and children, but many are left wondering just how to go about that.  The post highlights the best BPA free bottles currently on the market.  Mum Mum’s provides a list of BPA free baby bottles in plastic and glass, as well as reusable bottles for adults and how to choose a BPA free disposable bottle.

Fishy Diet in Early Infancy Cuts Eczema Risk
Eating fish has been shown to be highly beneficial for infant brain development, but what about healthy skin? Mum Mum’s reveals that eating fish in early infancy, as in prior to 9 months of age, can help reduce the development of eczema.  Delving into the worldwide rise in the rate of eczema, a new study revealed that fish consumption in infancy could reduce the risk of condition by 25%, a greater effect than many other known preventative methods such as reducing household and environmental allergens.
