4 Ways to Create Some “Me” Time for Mums
For supermoms everywhere, Mum Mum’s provides 4 ways to create a little “me” time for mums. Most moms feel they will never have anytime for themselves, but it is important to make time for a little break. Having daily time to decompress will ultimately make a happier mother and kids will be sure to notice. By utilizing resources, picking priorities, letting go of the guilt, and not sweating the small stuff; moms can find ways to sneak in some daily quality time for themselves.
Groundbreaking Bill Passed to Protect Kids
Finally, the pleas of parents and kids’ safety advocates have been heard in Congress. The post explains a new bill has been passed that will help protect kids from potentially dangerous chemicals. Except in trace amounts, lead has been banned entirely from products for kids under the age of 12.
The bill also bans the use of phthalates and a few other toxic chemicals while banning an additional 3 chemicals pending further research. A main component of the bill is the granting of both additional power and resources to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The CPSC will now have the authority to penalize companies not following the new legislation, remove unsafe products from shelves faster, and enforce mandatory safety testing on kids’ products before they hit the shelves. Before the bill, the CPSC was merely in charge of recalls and hearing the complaints of consumers. The greatest achievement of the bill is that children’s products will have to be deemed as safe by a regulating body before they reach the hands of children.
7 Ways to Teach Kids “Green” Habits
With the nation “going green” as the earth’s resources dwindle, kid’s can also do their part to help the “green” movement. Teaching kids “green” habits right from the start will instill both pride and a sense of responsibility. The post explains kids are far more receptive to helping Mother Nature than many adults realize. Leading by example and participating in eco-friendly activities are just a few ways parents can teach their kids “green” habits.
