baby development, parentingChoosing a name for your new baby is no easy task.  Nowadays, there seems to be no boundaries for what you can name your child as no name seems too absurd.  Actress Nicole Kidman has just named her daughter ‘Sunday Rose’, following a few weeks after Jessica Alba’s daughter naming of ‘Honor’. Let us not forget who broke name-giving barriers –Gwyneth Paltrow’s first born was affectionately named ‘Apple’.  Here are the top 10 baby names of all time for both boys and girls:

 Boys:                                                 Girls:
10. Thomas                                           10. Helen
9. Charles                                              9. Dorothy
8. Joseph                                               8. Susan
7. Richard                                              7. Margaret
6. David                                                6. Barbara
5. William                                              5. Jennifer
4. Michael                                              4. Linda

2. John                                                  2. Patricia
1. James                                               1. Mary

Although some of the names might seem a bit outdated, several have stood the test of time holding rank in the top 10 for centuries.  Yet if you look at the top names of 2007, everything old is new again with Isabella, Emma, Ethan, and Jacob reigning supreme.  Deciding on a name for your precious little one is a big decision; for a little inspiration and organization visit How to Choose Baby Names.
